The Camera Control button does nothing when I swipe.

Swipe and light-press must be enabled on your iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Camera Control. If Apple's own Camera app doesn't respond to a swipe either, it's turned off there.

The image is upside down or mirrored.

Open the Image drawer and set rotation and mirroring so that moving your hand to the right also moves right on screen. The Screen drawer can lock the interface in one orientation.

Focus keeps hunting while I solder.

Tap the image where you want it sharp; focus then stays put. The button next to the zoom rail locks focus (MF), and you can set it by hand with the focus rail.

The picture is dark.

Turn on the work light in the Light drawer, pick 60 fps in the Lens drawer (the shutter can stay open twice as long), or set exposure manually.

My iPhone gets hot.

4K at 120 fps with the light on is demanding. Tap “Reduce load” in the warning, or pick Speed mode and 60 fps.

How much is free?

BenchScope is free for 10 minutes each day. A one-time purchase removes the limit, on all your devices and for Family Sharing. Time spent in Settings doesn't count.
